www.businessinsider.com/united-airlines-pilot-removed-after-bizarre-political-rant-2017-2Whew. I can't imagine being on that plane. I'd have been completely freaked out and probably would have had to hit the airport bar for a few hours. Obviously, she was having some sort of breakdown, but one would think that her showing up in civvies would have clued other employees in. Which I guess raises a question which I had never thought about, previously: who makes sure pilots are fit to fly when they arrive at the airport? Anyone?

You could always Ask the Pilot. I believe the First Officer/Copilot is supposed to be responsible for making sure the pilot is fit to fly. Plus presumably the other crew members would raise concerns.

Apparently, though, that didn't happen here. If this pilot hadn't chosen to share her thoughts over the intercom before the flight took off, she would have flown that plane. Which, I agree, is freaking scary. Imagine being on that plane at 30,000 feet and hearing the pilot start ranting...

I like the homey feel of flying the "Friendly Skies," but this was a definite case of TMI.
