Not ignoring; just don't know what to say. It's not new with Trump, of course, though sources say hate crimes are on the rise. The Nazis marched in Skokie - sort of - in 1977, and David Duke's been a serial pest for decades. I'm not on board, though, with generalisations about Jewish values re: education and parsimony. But isn't success and sticking it to the tax man exactly what many Trump supporters like about their man? Hmmm.

As far as the generalizations go, you're correct that I shouldn't generalize about any group, positive or negative, but many cultures do seem to value these things as a whole more than others. And I think that's probably more true of those who then are successful.
Also, I don't know that we can just assume it's a Trump supporter. While I know some of his fans and Bannon seem anti Semitic, when I hear the word "Privileged" being thrown around, I tend to think of the left.

Yeah, anti-Semitism is hardly limited to those who would support Donald Trump. And I don't know that this particular incident reflects a rise in the same. The linking of 1% criticism with anti-Semitism suggests this is coming from something more to the left, or at least from one of those groups who routinely gets defended by people on the left. I'd also note this: a search for "Jewish privilege" in Google News turns up practically nothing from major networks/media sources on this incident. There's this from WGN: wgntv.com/2017/03/16/anti-semitic-flyers-circulating-on-campus-at-uic/That's about it. I submit that if this story involved the plastering up of anti-Muslim flyers all over a college campus, it would be covered by all the big boys and would be presented as more evidence the "rising tide" of anti-Muslim sentiments. And I think it's instructive to note that if the Jews were really in control of everything--especially the media--why is the above the case?

Or it could a right-wing person using the left's language and turning it on its head. It's hardly the first time that's happened. I really could see it going either way -- anti-Semitism is not limited to one side or one group, so I don't think we can surmise much of anything about the perpetrator's political views, or anything much beyond his or her anti-semitism. I also don't think we can make generalizations about any one group from the actions of one (or a few) shitheads.
Pretty much the only thing I'm completely willing to conclude here is that whoever put out thus garbage is certainly a shithead.
I will note that this "the jews control everything" stuff is disturbingly reminiscent of pre-WWII Germany. I will also note that there has been gobs of media coverage of anti-Semitic stuff lately (cemetery vandalism, swastika graffiti, etc.), so I don't think cries of "the media is ignoring this!" are appropriate. The coverage I've seen IS playing up the "rising tide of anti-semitism" angle. Perhaps that's because I'm in New York (which has a sizeable Jewish population)?

Or it could a right-wing person using the left's language and turning it on its head. It's hardly the first time that's happened. Sure, that's possible, too. Or the person(s) responsible could be straddling the line, as it were, and not really be on the right or the left. Maybe it is because you're in New York. But then I'm in South Florida, which isn't exactly barren when it comes to Jewish people. A Jewish school in Ft. Lauderdale--where the children of some friends go--was evacuated twice in the last couple of weeks because of bomb threats. Sorry, but as compared to threats/attacks (real or imagined) on Muslims since Trump's election, the attention the above has seen--both locally and nationally--is minuscule, imo. And again, this particular story is NOT getting any national press so far. In contrast, this story is currently on the front page of CNN: www.cnn.com/2017/03/16/us/muslim-airport-employee-hate-crime-trnd/index.htmlA search for "Jewish privilege on CNN returns zero results. And I reiterate, if this story involved flyers that were anti-Muslim--or racist--it would be getting far more attention, imo. Mostly because then it would fit a narrative that people in the media have already been peddling.

Well, to be fair, no one has been assaulted here, have they? Nor even any property damage. It's ugly as hell, but it's a flyer, put up in one place. I would expect an incident in which someone was actually assaulted to get more coverage.
The Jewish cemetery vandalism got a good deal of press, from what I saw.
