A stranger on twitter, whom I followed back a few days ago but don't know and haven't really interacted with much, just tweeted out that I deserve more followers. Not as a reply to me -- as a stand-alone tweet. Near as I can tell, this is the only tweet of this kind he has made.
Another odd thing. I am certain that when I followed him back, he was already following some people and had some followers. Now he lists that he's following 1 person, but no one is following him (impossible -- I am following him).
His tweets are all sane (except maybe the one I mention here), non-bot-like, and demonstrate some semblance of a sense of humor.
Is it possible to make followers/following lists private? Should I just take this as a compliment and move on, or should I unfollow and block?
-- Cass, who is highly suspicious of compliments.
ETA:
I wouldn't find it so weird if we'd interacted more, e.g , if he was always replying to my tweets. Or, for that matter, if my tweets provided scintillating info. But, yeah, no, not really.

I'd vote "unfollow and block" if this twitter user was anyone other than me, based solely on the idea that he unfollowed everyone but you. The shout out to you--to get you more followers--is no big deal, imo. Happens all the time (though never to me). But following no one but you looks bad to me. I'd suggest double checking that, though. Twitter can glitch on those numbers from time to time.

Does this Twitter user happen to have orange skin and a strange looking creature living on his head?

I'm sorely tempted to create a bunch of twitter accounts who then only follow Cass.

He's following some others, and some others are following him. Not many, but he just joined this month. Maybe he just enjoys my tweets. Huh. I don't follow people back in the first place until I've checked out that their tweets don't look psycho, and that they have at least a few followers/followees who don't look like bots. So I knew he had some before. But it was really, really weird to look and see that it appeared he suddenly had none but me, accompanied by that tweet. Does this Twitter user happen to have orange skin and a strange looking creature living on his head? Why, yes he does, and initially that gave me pause. But his tweets are all totes fine. E.g., "The PEOPLE love my tweets! I'm very popular, believe me. YUGE crowds!" "Crooked Hillary ruined my very wonderful healthcare plan! SAD! It would have been tremendous, believe me."

Seriously, he could be like you were: a twitter newb who just happened upon you early in his twitter life and has seriously enjoyed your tweets and retweets, to the extent that he's surprised you don't have more followers (no accounting for taste, after all ).

In other news, Cass also does not want to be a part of any club that would have her as a member.

Apparently we're ALL part of a club that has you as a member.
