It's still breaking news. I haven't yet seen details on who the shooter is or why he did it, nor the identities of the victims.
ETA:
An hour later, and I still see nothing specific on shooter or victims. No clue if it is ISIS or race motivated or a personal grudge or the guy was just plain mentally unbalanced. I admit I've been hitting refresh every fifteen minutes, and unfortunately, the one thing I have heard is that the death count has gone up and there were at least two kids killed.
ETA:
Death toll is now 28. A couple of people on Twitter said the shooter was a white guy, but I see no news sources confirming that, and the tweeters in question don't answer requests for their source, so I suspect the assertion is politically driven, unfortunately. It may be true, of course, but I don't think they actually know at this point.
What I can say is the pictures of victim's families I've seen so far are white (not that this isn't horrible no matter what race they are. But my first thought was a second Dylan Rooff , and this doesn't seem to be that).
It's a tiny rural church, in a small town -- the victims supposedly comprise 7% of it's population. Just horrifying.
At least 20 people were killed and 30 injured in a Texas church shooting Sunday morning, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
The alleged shooter is dead, and it appears there is no longer an active threat at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, about 40 miles southeast of San Antonio, police told ABC News.
