I'd say if their paying lip service to either justification, they still fall under that group. I mean, really is it that strange to think people will justify voting for someone or against someone based on a theory that they know doesn't hold water? In a way, they're even more disgusting as they don't even believe the accusation is false, but their still voting for him. You're giving them way too much credit, I think. People--a lot of people, in my experience--latch on to self-serving justifications all the time, simply because it's convenient. They're not thinking it through. Hell, they're barely thinking at all. Oh I know. I do think however it's not an either or case. It's rather a bell curve. Some people knowingly do it, other's are that dumb and there are many in between.

The only justification people need to vote for Moore is america's this-or-that political system, same as with Trump. Since Moore's responsibilities in office won't include babysitting 12-year-olds, some people don't consider that behavior as germane as how he might carry out the responsibilities he will have if elected. Those people might decide he'll carry out the actual responsibilities better than his competitor. It's not like they have a feasible third option.
This is why I've quit voting. I can support one crook or another. No thanks.
