I'm going to be very interested in seeing this.
Unfortunately, though, I think many won't care, especially among Trump supporters. They've been increasingly conditioned to think "well, so what if the Russian government is pushing it?". I mean, RT is very obviously and openly the voice of the Kremlin, and yet...
Though the left also fell victim to Russian propaganda sewn to heighten dissension and partisan furor, they at least tend to still think Russian propaganda is not a good thing.
That said, I can imagine that unless it turns out to be totally (and prove-ably) fake news they fell for, the knee-jerk reaction among many will be "Terrible that they interfered, but my opinion isn't changed. It made no difference."

It's funny (not in a "haha" way but in a "Jesus, that's pathetic" kind of way) that Republicans, who were always the party of the Red Scare, strongly against the rise of Communism, proud slayers of the Soviet Union dragon, and many of them currently decry the rise of Marxist/Communist ideology on the far left, are suddenly all "meh, no big deal / nothing to see here" about Putin and Russian interference in our political processes.
The mental gymnastics required for that level of cognitive dissonance must be absolutely staggering.

Word.
Btw, I'm now nostalgic for that election, and pretty much all the ones that proceeded it. I'm struck every time I watch an "old" debate clip. Look at how Romney politely allows Obama to talk, waiting until he's finished to respond, letting his facial expression express his disagreement in a polite, restrained way. No interruptions of "wrong!" "such a nasty woman" "you're the puppet! you're the puppet!" You know he'll let Obama have it when it's his turn, but he observes the rules of civil debate. I'm confident Obama did the same when Romney responded.
I miss the dignity. I really do.

It made no difference." I agree. It's not a matter of logic, even in the face of corruption, treason, or child-molesting. It's a matter of sticking it to anybody who's a Democrat - even if Republicans are in the line of fire, and wiping out Obama's legacy. The Muellers of the world are still vital, and perhaps the last line of defense. But in the Trumpian world, smoking guns are mere incense, and innocent bystanders are fair game. Remembering how much the other Republicans despised him right up until he won the White House, I still won't be surprised if he jettisons the GOP and runs for re-election as the Trump Party candidate - and leaves the Republicans pillaged and ruined.

No doubt, Romney was/is far classier than Trump.
But I meant to point more toward the positions w/ regard to Russia.
It's kind of a funny thing, IMO. Mitt Romney got criticized for saying pretty much the same thing Hillary Clinton would later say about Russia (that they were the country's biggest foreign threat).
So sure, maybe Republicans are doing some gymnastics here (although let's be real, Putin is hardly a Marxist). But let's not forgot those who jumped on the "Russia is dangerous" train only when it became politically convenient to do so.

I knew what you meant. And I agree. But the classy thing hit me, too.

The most entertaining thing, in a cynical eye-rolling sense, has been how Russia apparently has plotted to impose dog-catchers on the USA in the dog-catcher election. It presumes a competence and pervasiveness that's just not true. Russian operatives simply aren't that good. What success they've had so far is down to luck and to Americans themselves.
I'm not going to deny Russian influence-peddling. That would be rather dumb. Of course they've tried. I do however listen to the opposition in Russia who has been having a quiet anxiety attack over the ludicrousness of the US coverage. I mean, if Putin is as good as the US press says he is, then Russians will support him more. And they do. Which prevents the opposition from removing him.
Facebook is just greedy and will accept ads from anyone, and will later concoct some rationalisation about it. And do something that will divert attention from the issue so that they can come up with a reason to accept ad money next time.
