My printer broke yesterday. I am convinced it was in despair and just couldn't go on. As for me, I shall muddle on, fighting the near-constant urge to swallow drano or hurl myself through a plate-glass window to the pavement forty stories down. I, at least, have covfefe. No man is worth killing yourself over. Perhaps you can seek an injunction through the court system to make him stop abusing you. Oh, wait, that only works on spouses, not government officials. Too bad we're not allowed to divorce them.

And fyi: Shouldn't you be all cute-ing put, Cass? Seems right up your alley. Yeah...not so much. She's letting her three-year-old get access to a device that might contain sensitive info -- and at the very least, that she uses to communicate as the president's representative. And she doesn't notice it for an hour. For me to find it adorable, it really has to be harmless. That's why it is so much easier for a former politician to be adorable than a current one.

You know, with exception of a couple pet emoji (quivery lip guy, dancing snoopy, and hurray guy), I am not a huge emoji person.
But I must admit this response to Sanders was really fine work:
meh, the copy function didn't work very well. click on the link for the original.

heh. that one was forwarded to me by someone who knows my taste in tweets!
come on, golfer plus orange plus an emoji kissing a Russian flag plus dollar bags equals three terrified-looking piles of shit -- what's not to love?

I think it's hysterical, too. But I don't think it represents any sort of serious issue.
For all we know, she saw her son typing the thing out and tweeted it herself, just to be playful. Then left it up for a while to watch the responses. Maybe she has a helluva sense of humor, in this regard.
But the anti-Trump crowd is so fixated on slamming all things Trump, I bet dollars to donuts that if she offered that explanation (I'm not saying it happened that way, for real), not one of them would except it, would right this off, with an "LOL, good one." Would you?
And that says something, imo. Not a good something.

Would you? And that says something, imo. Not a good something. Sorry, if she did that, it was wildly inappropriate and unprofessional. That twitter account is the one she uses as principal deputy press secretary. It has a big-ass picture of the White House as a banner on top of it, an her profile picture has a picture of her at the podium. If I let my little nephew do that from my work email to random people in my inbox, it would also be inappropriate. My work email is for my use as a freaking lawyer. Do you think my clients would think it just adorbs if I let my nephew do that, or do you think maybe it would worry them that I left my phone (which contained my work email that contains their privileged/sensitive information) unlocked? I know you're bending over backwards to be fair to this clown car administration, but really. It's not cool to leave a phone you use for work purposes laying around unlocked, especially if you work for the damn president. When she's not working for him, and leaves a purely personal phone laying around that is not used to do business for anyone but herself, it will be adorable for her to let her three year old tweet (from her personal account). ETA: For the record, by the way, I do NOT let small children -- or anyone -- touch the phone I use for work purposes. And it locks automatically when I turn off the screen or when I don't touch it for a couple of minutes. Ditto with my computer. I keep an old laptop kicking around that has been scrubbed of anything sensitive. When I have guests, I let them use that rather than have them use a computer that has sensitive files on it. That includes relatives, close friends, and people I'm dating.

I mean, to be fair, no harm was done in this particular instance. But she really shouldn't leave that phone around unlocked because next time the consequences might not be so harmless.
People working for the White House, representing other people, working with sensitive info, etc., need to be careful about this shit. And they have, IMO, an obligation to be professional. I might find this slightly more amusing were it not for the whole clown car of uncontrolled tweets, statements, info, etc. coming from this administration. But I would still say "keep that freaking phone locked."
(And yes, I DID criticize Hillary's private server, quite vociferously.)

I know you're bending over backwards to be fair to this clown car administration, but really. It's not cool to leave a phone you use for work purposes laying around unlocked, especially if you work for the damn president. Nah, I'm making a point of criticizing people going apeshit over little things, usually on social media, and usually on the basis of nothing but assumptions, all because of Trump. It's disheartening to me. And ultimately counter-productive. I mean this nonsense is getting far more play than Bernie Sanders' ridiculous religion-based questions in a confirmation hearing for an OMB position. It's even getting more play than Trump's very possibly illegal actions with regard to his son's charity event. It was a a funny moment, no doubt. But also one that caused no harm and is easily explained. Yet no one wants to let it go; many instead need to double and triple down on the moment, need to turn it into a Big Deal with the very justifications you are now offering. I remember when Obama called Kanye a jackass. Great moment, imo. I thought it was honest and refreshing. But I bet that if Trump or someone in his admin did something similar, it would immediately be criticized as "wildly unprofessional" or the like and those do the criticizing would never, ever back down. You note Clinton's security problems, fair enough. But let's stick to twitter. Remember the outrage over Kellyanne pimping Ivanka's clothing line? Yet if you recall, I noted that Obama's official twitter account was doing the same thing for OFA gear (clothing and the like). Those slamming Kellyanne never had a fit over Obama's tweets, in this regard. But if anything, the latter was worse. Direct links to buy merchandise were being given by Obama's official account while he was President. In this case, we apparently have the toddler of someone in the admin sending out a nonsense tweet. OMG! Stop the presses! So the question is, is this the first time such a thing has ever happened before? Maybe. But then again, maybe not. Per my above example, are the people seeing this as a Big Deal consistent? Do they know it never happened under the past admin? Of course, a primary difference here: Trump's admin is being watched like a hawk on social media, by people who are only interested in mocking and criticizing, to a degree that imo dwarfs the attention paid to any past admins. Maybe that's the new reality going forward. If so, I think that's pretty bad. YMMV.
