I’m not so much busy as hesitant to be called a hypocrite for the millionth time. It’s gets old. And yeah my daily news, my Twitter feed, my extra readings, the Oscars, the NFL, EVERYHING is about Trump these days. Pardon me for wanting to talk about other things now and again.

We are not here to discuss only Trump, no matter how much some folks think he's the be-all and end-all of everything bad in the universe. He's not. Really, he's not. And IMO, it's much healthier to not be obsessed with the man. And discussing things other than Trump, on a message board for political discussion, in a thread that's purportedly not even about Trump, does not mean folks are ignoring Trump. Why is this even a thing that needs to be pointed out? Maybe we should rename this board Trump's Colline Gate.
Edited to Add: MAGA!

Glad to be of service. Yours just make me sad. For several reasons.

This still has nothing to do with AOC or the GND, as much as you would like it to.

I already did before you instructed me to. It's very entertaining. Sometimes cringe-worthy. And occasionally, he makes good sense.

Trump doing anything, or me voting for him, has nothing to do with a discussion on this board about AOC. Why is that such a difficult concept? If you voted for Hillary, does that mean you can't talk about email security on a TCG thread or I would call you out on being a hypocrite? You and Mark sure do like to call me that.
And since Trump is the root of all evil and every bad thing (at least for those with TDS), then I essentially can't discuss anything on here. I get it.

For two lawyers to engage in such fallacious arguments on a discussion board brings me to: But yeah, message received loud and clear. I know exactly what you're both doing at this point. It's very junior high school.

If you two want me off the board, then that's fine. I'm pretty tired of this, so have at it with yourselves if you can't stop doing what seems to me like a pretty immature discourse on here.
I think there should be a word for this, like Godwinning for Nazis, only this is Trump. Maybe call it TCGing a thread. It's utterly ridiculous, but hey, whatever makes you happy.
BTW, that behavior goes against the entire purpose of starting this board. But again, hey, whatever makes you happy.

This.
There is so much video of what's going on, how can people not see it/believe it? The video that angered Maduro with Jorge Ramos is of young people foraging through a trash truck and eating, right there at the trash truck, trash food they just picked out. It's horrible. I didn't see a link to it in the Variety article, but I saw it last night in reference to Ramos.
Marco Rubio pointed out a video where people are actually begging Maduro's national police to let in the supplies, while the police stand there blocking them in a line. Some soldiers have tears on their cheeks They are actually crying because they have to ignore these poor people begging them for medicine and such.

Your above posts are entirely correct, Don.
A few months past, we were all discussing how AOC would do as a new congressperson. I wonder if any of us expected her to become so arrogant and so bossy this quickly. It's really amazing to me. And so many of the older Dems are blissfully signing on to what she is saying it just blows my mind. I think this is being allowed to happen because of a few reasons:
1) a considerable faction of today's Dem party is young and very left-leaning like university students and the like. They are, of course, attracted to a young pretty charismatic woman of color who talks about free stuff.
2) the older Dems including the several hundred who are in office and planning to run for POTUS (and who should know better) are so worried about being popular and bringing in this faction to vote for them in 2020, that they aren't thinking, they are just grabbing on to a piece (or crumbs) of the popularity pie.
3) Democrats don't seem to have much stuff going on at present except damaging Trump. So if they can damage Trump by turning the U.S. into a socialist nightmare, so be it. I don't think that's where AOC is coming from, but I think that's what is allowing other established Dems to happily and ignorantly ride AOC's wave.
I can see AOC's head swelling bigger by the second. Her Twitter feed is insufferable. We've created a monster.
(And before you all say "What about Trump's Twitter feed/arrogance/etc., well, you know.... we CAN discuss other topics, and I CAN have opinions on other topics without it always coming back to the whataboutisms re: Trump and my voting for Trump.)

They were kids. Telling them their opinions don't matter because they haven't voted wasn't the best approach, in my view. FWIW, "not her best moment" is not the same thing as "horribly awful from her." As I said, it was unfair to her--imo--to stage this kind of moment, to have a bunch of kids accosting her verbally. I see your point but really — kids meeting a senator who has been doing her job for years should have had more respect for Feinstein’s POV and listened to her a little bit. It could have been a good learning opportunity.
