Does Michael Moore count? *provides link to the last half of Fahrenheit 9/11*
(I so wanted to love that film, but it was, to me, an object lesson in spoiling the message by being a d-.. er, jackwagon)

Damn it, I should have offered Trump advice before vanishing on Twitter! I suppose I could reactivate my account...

Hey, there's no reason you can't do the steps in reverse order, right?..

Here's the guy's FB page that has the whole video on it: www.facebook.com/scott.koteskeyHe might be something of an ass, as well. Frankly, when people start recording stuff after an argument has started, I tend to question their motives. That said, she went into a "my husband's mother just died, have you no decency!" spiel when they told her to deplane. I think her husband look mortified the whole time. Jackwagon, indeed. I believe it was a fellow passenger who was recording it. She sent him the video afterwards. He certainly seems to be capitalizing on his 15 minutes of fame, but it doesn't look like he went looking for the confrontation or the publicity.

If that's the case, my bad. I concur.

I must admit I take screenshots of posts/tweets that I think are likely to be deleted or edited, mostly so I can share them with friends.
Yeah, taking potshots at a grieving military widow/family/casualty is cheap and shitty.
Taking potshots at politicians who use them to posture for partisan purposes (how's that for alliteration?) is fair game. But the families' grief and the dead person's memory is not.

Oh, now THIS guy.... This guy is the living personfication of the cluesless liberal elitist living in an ivory tower looking down and hocking a glob of spit upon the upturned faces of the unwashed masses. Alas, that's the problem for all these smart-asses breathing the rarefied air of the university sanctuary. When they step outside into the real world there's no oxygen to get to their brains. Sad, really.

I agree.
Of course it's true that not all soldiers are heroes, but giving up a seat for a soldier is just a general way to thank them for their service. I paid the tab for four soldiers in uniform having dinner once night (they were at a nearby table and were talking about heading to Afghanistan in a couple of days). Did it anonymously, no big thing. I've seen plenty of other people do similar things, and not always for soldiers. After 9-11, I remember seeing firefighters get the same sort of treatment. It's a shame, really, that such gestures aren't more common, imo.
But this particular professor appears to be dead set on being an ass on twitter, whenever possible. No doubt, Ward Churchill is one of his heroes...

I've done something like 200 ride-alongs as part of my job with the DA's office and I can't tell you how many times people have paid for coffee or meals while I was out with the cops. It may seem like a small gesture but it's very much appreciated. We always thanked the person, stopped for a chat if we could. It makes officers feel closer to their community and reminds them that good people are out there supporting their hard work. I bet those soldiers felt the same way, Rob, so thanks for doing that.
