That's interesting. There might be some truth to the idea, although Clinton may not be the best example. So many of the criticisms of Clinton were too specific; they wouldn't have worked on anyone besides Clinton specifically.

Every time I see the title of this thread pop up, this gets stuck in my head: Damn you, Opty. This song has been stuck in my head since you posted it. I cannot get rid of it. I swear, when CG Admin fixes my ban button...

So many of the criticisms of Clinton were too specific; they wouldn't have worked on anyone besides Clinton specifically. Agree that Clinton is a unique case in some ways, tied as she is to her husband and given her long history in the public eye. And having spent a fair amount of time criticizing her myself throughout the election, I will be the last one to say there's no ground on which to criticize her. That said -- given that the opposition was Trump, it was just astonishing that many voters apparently thought of her as the more corrupt one. I mean, she's no beacon of truth, but on any ground I can think of to criticize her, Trump is so much worse. And though I think that being a Clinton had something to do with that, I also have a hunch being a woman likely did, too.

It's kinda like how people were sick and tired of being ruled by the elite, so they elected a guy who literally lives in a tower. But he doesn't talk like a politician. (No matter how you feel about him, you gotta give him that. He doesn't even talk like a homosapien at times.)
I think her fans refused to believe the corruptness about her, his fans refused to believe the corruptness about him, all despite that it was right there.

Can't we all just agree this last year or so never happened? Let's rewind to, say, 2015 -- before Bowie died and tore apart the fabric of the universe.

We go back in time to 1-9-2016, the day before Bowie died. And this last year plus doesn't exist. Wouldn't it play out in the exact same way again? Are you saying you liked it so much you want to do it again?

I'm thinking if I can just get him to ask Mom to the Enchantment Under the Sea dance and they kiss...
Oh, wait. I might have my plots mixed up.

A scary thing is I read that the first time and didn't notice what Robo was referring to. Hopefully it's just fatigue... Oops, I was referring to the "Women birth half the population..." Sometimes I don't realize a thread has another page. Sorry!
