Mind you, Rich's family denied the story days ago and asked Hannity to stop trumpeting it.
Fox gave this story extremely prominent coverage -- not back page stuff. It was as or more prominent than anything on Trump/Russia. And I've seen alt-right outlets and Trump supporters spreading it all over twitter, demanding to know why the FAKE NEWS mainstream media wasn't reporting it.
At least they retracted it at last. But I tend to think a lot of people will continue to believe it.
For one thing, they aren't posting it very prominently. I just clicked on their web page. Lookie. Can you find it? At the moment, I can't. www.foxnews.com
Oh, here's the shy little thing! Aww, how cute! www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/05/23/statement-on-coverage-seth-rich-murder-investigation.html
Breitbart just released a new story hyping the story today -- looks like in the last hour or so of this post., hours after the retraction. www.breitbart.com/tech/2017/05/23/megaupload-founder-kim-dotcom-claims-seth-rich-was-dnc-leaker-offers-to-work-with-special-counsel-mueller/
If I sound pissed off about this, it's because I am. This family had a tragic loss and it was disgusting to put them through this. And in particular, it never should have taken them days to retract it when the family denied it.
A week after publishing a problematic account about the death of former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich - an article that said Rich made contact with WikiLeaks before he was shot and killed in Washington - Fox News retracted the story saying it did not meet the organization’s editorial standards.
