Whatever his intent, can we agree it was a stupid thing to do, given the when and the where of the prayer? The "pun" wouldn't have bothered me at all, but that may not be true for everyone who was there; not all members of other religions and denominations are okay with "punning" during prayers. Sure, but then again, I'd probably argue that having congressional prayers in the first place is a stupid thing to do. Same. The fact that Congress rarely ever gets anything done and refuse to get along, work together, or ever be civil to each other anymore is prima facie evidence that Congressional prayers don't work anyway.

Given the unreliability of polling demonstrated in the past two elections, I'm not making any predictions (though I hope Perdue and Loeffler lose). I'd like to think it's a toss-up but honestly have no idea what to think.
Should be interesting to watch the results and tomorrow's spin, though.

If you have to go out of your way to concoct lengthy explanations of how great your pun is because it was "misinterpreted and misconstrued," then you didn't actually make a "pun."
You made a mistake.
Puns require a proper set-up. They require a clear context from which to understand the pun. There's nothing in his entire prayer that sets up or provides context for the "pun."
He should probably avoid trying to be funny or clever in the future because he doesn't seem to be good at it. Just go back to the nameless obscurity he enjoyed before all of this, and stick to his congressional position and being a preacher. No puns needed for that, given that both Congress and organized religion are already basically big jokes.

For those not aware, amen is a latin word meaning roughly "so be it" and isn't gendered at all. It's found in the Old Testament, so I'm thinking Hebrew. Or should I say she-brew? (Sorry, I couldn't resist.) Apparently he's desperately trying to spin it that way now (likely to save what's left of his face), but it came off to me like an incredibly clumsy and misguided attempt to do the progressive's "secret-yet-public handshake" of virtue signalling.

Haha, you just gonna let it slide that she just claimed that Epstein is still alive? She's reached peak lunatic. Who is "She"? Brain fart on my part. I'd just read an article from Twitter on Sidney Powell and other Trump lawyer loonies before posting that, and I guess I still had "she/her" in my head. Lin ain't Sidney, obviously. At least not until she/he/zur transitions.

Ironically enough, the extreme paranoia directed toward one's own allies seems kind of reminiscent of various communist regimes... Oh, I like this a lot. Confirmation that Rob likes Communism "a lot."

I really like this show and I'm glad it's now on Netflix. They do a really good job of mixing nostalgia and inside jokes with good character development and some heart. Sometimes serious, sometimes intentionally goofy and self-aware, but they weave it all together in a really nice, convincing way. There are a few things I'm not as big a fan of (the character of Daniel's daughter is simply awful), but overall it's a really great series.
It's most fun, especially during the first two seasons, to see the story through Johnny's eyes (he's really the main character of the series). I'm currently binging Season 3 which was released today.
If you're a fan of the 80s movies (well, the first two; let's just pretend the others don't exist), then I strongly recommend checking this Netflix series out.

Yeah, first couple of paragraphs of it are fine but then it quickly just goes off the rails into tinfoil hat "I'm no doctor but..." land.
Huber's tragic case does leave some important and unanswered questions, though. What was the non-COVID disease? Do they have any clues about how/where he contracted it (if it's communicable) or how he developed it (if it wasn't from a virus)? It's scary to think their might be (or is) another disease running around out there that could attack a person's lungs so aggressively and kill them just a month or two later.

I really liked Brodie Lee / Luke Harper (Jon Huber) and had already heard so many stories about what a good person he was behind the scenes. He also seemed really cool and genuine when he appeared on podcasts, not to mention how funny he and the other Dark Order people were on the Being The Elite series (on YouTube).
I had no dry eyes during Dynamite this week. Their tribute to Brodie Lee was really classy and well done. It was really cool how they put over all of the Dark Order members in each match (and nice way to be respectful to them for their loss as well) as well as how they incorporated Brodie Lee, Jr. into the show. Not only was he able to get involved and crack MJF over the head with kendo stick but he got to pick the competitors in the main event (his three favourite wrestlers: 10 from Dark Order (Preston Vance), Orange Cassidy, and Cody Rhodes).
They also did a really nice spot at the end where they retired the current TNT belt (just the design, not the title) in honor of Brodie and placed his boots and bandana in the center of the ring.
Also props to Tony Khan for throwing all of this together at the last minute and showing that he seems to sincerely care. They originally had a two-part special event that was supposed to start this week but they immediately postponed it to next week to rearrange everything for this tribute to Brodie. Tony also did a lot of stuff (both as gestures and financially) for Brodie's family. As a boss, especially in wrestling where asshole Vince McMahon has been at the top for so long, it's refreshing to see someone who seems to really care for the wrestlers and their families as people rather than as commodities to make him more money (the way Vince treats his wrestlers...sorry..."sports entertainers").
Anyway, just a really well-done and classy show. If you're a fan of Brodie Lee, or wrestling in general, I highly recommend checking this show out.
They also posted this sweet after-show moment on YouTube:

That would never even come close to happening.
1) Hawley isn't speaking for "75 million people." He's only speaking for himself and the handful of boot-licking mouthbreather public officials who buy into this stolen election bullshit.
2) Only a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of those 75 million are on Twitter, follow any of the middle school drama that happens on Twitter, or give two shits at all about Twitter. Odds are 99.99% of that 75 million will never hear about this crap.
3) It's likely that the overwhelming majority of the 75 million shop at Walmart quite often. They're not giving up the affordable prices and convenience just because a GOP Congressman most of them have never heard of got his feelings hurt on a social media platform most of them don't pay attention to.
